SHIP MANAGEMENT and SHIP OPERATION with Traditional values and Technical Excellence

KORKYRA SHIPPING LTD was established in its present capacity in Spring 2003 to fill the need for reliable and efficient third party ship management. However the principals and employees have for decades been engaged in traditional shipowning and other shipping related matters, and as such have earned a reputation of professionalism, competence and excellence of service. Special experience has been achieved by working on many reefer and dry-cargo ship projects, passenger and ferry services with a special emphasis on high standards and cost efficient ship management services.

During August 2003 the company has taken over full technical and crew management including commercial post-fixture operation of two modern reefer/container ships, m.v. "Lady Korcula" and m.v. "Lady Racisce". Both vessels are commercially operated by Chiquita / GWT being employed on their regular banana service from Central America to Europe.

In 2004 and 2007, two handy size general cargo ships have been taken into full ship management, m.v. "Supertramp" and m.v. "Ladytramp". The ships are commercially managed by our long term German partners, Unicargo Transportges. mbh, Hamburg.

In 2007, a new project has been developed and completed with the same German partners, a Newbuilding named "Startramp" – a dry cargo ship of 18,512 tons dwt which has been built in Indonesia, PT Pal Shipyard in Surabaya. Until take over of full management, Korkyra Shipping has been engaged in newbuilding supervision and handling all owners matters.
The cooperation with the same partners has been extended by contracting two newbuildings in Chinese shipyard DDHI (Daoda Heavy Industry (Group) Co. Ltd in Qidong – Shanghai area where Korkyra Shipping has its site team supervising the construction of the ships. Delivery of both ships (named "Atlantic Tramp" and "Pacific Tramp") is supposed to take place in the second half of 2010.

We are paying full attention to build-up a cooperation with experienced and trustworthy customers and suppliers. At the same time, we are making sure to fulfill our commitments by timely payments and smooth orders.

The Company and its ships are fully ISM and ISPS certified, satisfying all requirements for securing highest standards of ship performance.

In our work we are looking forward to concentrate to a small group of partners with the mutual long-term interests, possibly by developing joint-venture projects and thus securing tailor-made solutions for 'family-type' business.
